Perry Greene

President of Taylor Commercial, Inc.

Perry Greene is the President of Taylor Commercial, Inc., one of the largest siding contractors in the United States. Under his leadership, the company serves the Southeastern region, managing large construction and renovation projects. Taylor Commercial has completed more than 25 renovations of low-income housing and condominium communities, demonstrating a consistent focus on quality and service.

Perry Clarke Greene was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and spent his early years in Athens. His father worked as a campus minister for the Church of Christ during this time. The family moved often as he grew up. They lived in Memphis, then moved to Escondido, California, followed by Gainesville, Florida, and finally settled in Riverdale, Georgia, when he was in eighth grade. These location changes did not affect his determination. From a young age, he was determined to find ways to succeed despite the challenges he faced. His early years taught him the importance of hard work, responsibility, and discipline.

Nurturing the Seeds of Entrepreneurship

At the age of 9, Perry started cutting lawns and collecting cans to earn his own spending money. By the time he was 12, he helped his family deliver 500 newspapers every morning before going to school. These tasks were more than chores to him—they were steps toward achieving his goals, such as buying clothes and sports equipment. At 15, while many of his peers were exploring interests, he worked under a business leader to help open the first Chick-fil-A Dwarf House locations in Riverdale and Jonesboro.

When he was disciplined at home, Greene was not sent to sit in time-out. Instead, he was encouraged to read books about rental properties and sales. This helped him develop an interest in personal development, sales techniques, and creating financial independence from an early age.

A New Direction

In high school at Riverdale, Perry earned All-State and All-Region honors as a baseball player. After graduation, he took two years of accounting classes. He also continued his baseball career at Southern Union Junior College. Though he once dreamed of playing professionally, that dream shifted as he set his sights on attending the University of Georgia. Without the funds to enroll, he joined the Navy Reserve, which allowed him to serve in Hawaii and Thailand.

He later earned a scholarship to Harding University before transferring to the University of Georgia in 1993. He completed his degree in Accounting in 1996 and passed the CPA exam the same year. He then began his professional career at Ernst & Young.

Diving Into Sales

In 1995, while in college, Perry married. In 1998, his career took a new path when he joined a family business owned by his father-in-law. He quickly advanced, becoming a top salesperson and then general manager within six months. In 1999, he helped sell that company and moved to Taylor Commercial, Inc., which focused on siding installations for apartment communities. Under his leadership, the company’s revenue increased from $600,000 to over $45 million a year.

Greene built his knowledge by learning from experienced sales professionals and respected sales books. With his guidance, the company expanded into ten states. It has completed more than 25 renovations of low-income housing and condominium communities, as well as siding projects for hundreds of apartment buildings.

From Growth to Recognition

With Perry leading the company, Taylor Commercial became one of the largest siding contractors in the Southeastern U.S. The company received awards, including the 1993 Heartland Commercial Contractor of the Year and several recognitions from Norandex Reynolds. In 2013, the company was ranked #1402 on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies.

Greene made sure the company gave back as well. In 2019, Taylor Commercial donated all concrete materials for the Johns Creek Vietnam Memorial. The company has also supported many civic events and local organizations.

Family, Faith, and an Evolving Mission

Perry and his spouse raised three children. One earned All-ACC honors in softball at UNC and completed a degree in Economics. Another attended surf camp in Maui, became an instructor, and graduated from Kennesaw University with a degree in Creative Media. The youngest is majoring in finance at the University of Mississippi.

Greene played a crucial role in supporting his wife’s successful congressional campaign in 2020. Although they divorced in December 2022, they continue to co-parent, working together to help their children’s goals.

He remains focused on his personal goals. A list of 100 goals created in 2004 guided him for years, and by 2022, most had been completed. He is now working on a book for homeowners, offering guidance on working with contractors based on his decades of experience.

The Art of Giving Back

Perry has always combined business with service. He has given time and resources to North Fulton Charities, holiday drives organized by the Northwest Georgia Housing Authority, and various local church programs. Over the years, he has also mentored numerous individuals, sharing the knowledge he has gained.

A Life Well Built

Outside of work, Greene enjoys coaching, boating, CrossFit, investing in real estate, and traveling. He spent a month in Italy in 2023 and visited France in 2024. He has plans to travel again in 2025, including a visit to London, and is planning a trip to Australia.

For 17 years, he made Christmas a time for family travel to Hawaii or Costa Rica, creating lasting memories. Today, Perry Greene continues to enjoy life’s simple moments—cooking, sharing a glass of wine or Champagne, and spending time with his children and his partner, Misty.
